Valerie James
Guitar, Voice
Valerie James received her Bachelor of University Studies degree at UNM in 2004 in Music (Guitar and Audio Engineering), Communications, and Women's Studies. She is a returning seasonal guitar teacher at Hummingbird Music Camp during the summer, and has been teaching privately in the Albuquerque area for over 6 years. Valerie enjoys teaching beginning students the basics of guitar and/or vocal technique, as well as advanced guitar and vocal performance. She is a singer/songwriter who has also contributed to many local CD productions, and was a finalist in the New Mexico Folk Festival Competition in 2010. Valerie also enjoys being the director of the Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition associated with the Telluride Blues Festival in Colorado during the Fall months. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Family Counseling at Webster University in Albuquerque, NM.
