NMSM Prize Winners at the 2021 Jackie McGehee Young Artists Competition
Two NMSM students participated in the 2021 Jackie McGehee Young Artists Competition. We are thrilled to announce that Akilan Sankaran, a student of Lawrence Blind, received 1st-Place performing the first movement of Edward MacDowell's Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, and Sophie Passey, a student of Tatiana Vetrinskaya, was awarded 3rd-Place performing the first movement of Edvard Grieg's Concerto in A Minor.
Honors Concert at the Royal Conservatory of Music
Twenty four students from NMSM made their international debut at historic Mazzoleni Hall at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada! The concert was a smashing success and we were also treated to a tour of the Royal Conservatory facilities.
